Let's Find Your Motivation!
Motivation is what causes us to act, commit and grow as an individual. We feel a sense of pride when we accomplish something of significance, whether for yourself or the person you just helped. Your intensity of motivation comes from your level of determination to succeed in life. However, we can’t control most events in our life, and it can knock us off the path we never wanted to leave. We become lost and demotivated as a result. If you want to know my story and the reason why I started this project, then read the “About Me” page above.
I lost my purpose in life a few years ago but I’m in a much better place now. I was surrounded by a very supportive and loving family but I still struggled to get out of bed in the mornings. My head was full of negative thoughts and I had no empathy – I couldn’t care less about people other than myself. I also stopped training at the gym and started putting on weight. I was unemployed, miserable and made up excuses in my head as to why I didn’t do something during the day. I lost all sense of courage and always walked looking at the ground.

Some of us become demotivated when we lose someone. Maybe our world only revolved around one person who meant the world to us that we became lost without them. It’s a normal process but we all accept fate and recover differently. You might begin to hate yourself for wishing you said or did things differently and begin to live with regret. Why bother doing anything if you can’t change the past, right? Wrong – delaying only stops you from accepting your mistakes and growing into a better version of yourself.
I developed a habit of doing nothing and expecting everything. I pray before bed every night but maybe I started taking my connection with God for granted. I’m blessed with a loving family and a peaceful, moderate life but I wasn’t satisfied. Oh well, God will give me something in a few weeks like he always does, right? Wrong - I developed a selfish mindset and nothing changed.
Have you ever sat down, written a list of all the things you have and appreciated how blessed you really are? If your reading this then you already have more than most people in life. You found the time to read this message and the technology (and electricity) to connect to the Internet. Reports vary but did you know around 40% of the world’s population still live in extreme poverty. Think of all the millions of people around the world wishing they could live in your simple life for just one day.
Do you realise how lucky you are?
Are you aware of the tools, people and support around you if you stop inflicting fear into your mind?
Your mindset is your biggest investment. You can dream to the other side of the universe and back but if you’re not putting in the work then how do you expect to get to where you want to be. Maybe you set your goals too high and aren’t honest enough about your expectations. How can you learn and create new skills without daring to go out of your comfort zone?
Let’s start tomorrow with a new beginning. Why not use the rest of the evening to write down your goals and dreams with realistic ways to achieve them? Write down what scares you and find practical ways to eliminate a negative mindset – fear can be controlled. Research into your role models and learn from their stories too. Get an early night’s sleep (make it a regular routine) and instil discipline in yourself.
We only have one life to achieve what we want so work smart. Go and get it.
