Love Whoever You Want

Nobody should judge who we want to love in this world. I fully respect people who come out and embrace who they really are. I've known gay people throughout my life and never had an issue with any of them. Why should I treat them differently just because we’re not physically attracted to the same sex? I used to be close to a friend at college who was gay but it didn’t stop me hanging out with him. I judge my friends on who are they towards me and whether or not they’re just a nice person. If you make me laugh and we share the same interests then I don't see why we can't be friends regardless of who you love.

We currently live in a society where gender identity is the most controversial topic. I do think common sense has been thrown out the window to accommodate such a small fraction of society. For example, I disagree with the notion that there are more than 100 genders - it's ridiculous. It's your personality that defines you. You also cannot change science. We're either born with XX (female) or XY (male) chromosomes but I'm aware some people are born intersex and should be entitled to identify in their own time even beyond puberty and into adult life. The main issue which divides people is individuals who pick and choose who to be like its fashion. They jump on the bandwagon and want to be the centre of attention. It makes a mockery out of people who are truly trying to transition.

I admire anyone who has the courage to come out. It's no doubt probably the hardest decision they ever have to make. However, it's heartbreaking when you read the latest story on someone who has committed suicide simply because they were gay or deemed different to society. I've also seen sick videos of beatings at gay pride events, especially from Eastern Europe, where civilization is still stuck in some previous barbaric century. I don't have any evidence to back up my next point but I do believe mental health issues might occur more frequently with people who are LGBT and it's not hard to see why.

We must look at the bigger picture because Love will always exceed hate. Be proud of who you are and don't be ashamed to feel or be different from others. We all need to learn, grow and accept each other. Nobody should be tormented and I wish there were stricter laws to punish people whose agenda in life is just to be pure evil.
